Sunday School Opening Hymn

Each month we open Sunday School with the same hymn every week, so young and old can learn it together and sing it with confidence. The list draws from all of our books.

For Musicians

We are blessed with so many musicians. A few friendly reminders to keep Sundays running smoothly:

  • Send your hymn numbers to Walter by Wednesday of the week before you play.
  • Linda plays for Sunday School on the first Sunday of each month. Whoever plays for meeting that day is encouraged to coordinate with her.
  • Linda and Joe (violin) love to play along. Let them know your hymns in advance.
  • Play the Sunday School hymn of the month for the opening hymn.
  • Try to include no more than one unfamiliar hymn each week. If you do pick a new one, share a recording link ahead of time.
  • Check that the words are doctrinally sound. Walter can swap a word or two when needed.
  • Can't make your date? Swap in the sheet and find a replacement first. Jessica Easson is happy to help if you get stuck.
